Pagan Poetry – Ink Cap

Invisible invader of my lawn

One day here, next gone

Or so it seems

Made from the essence of dreams.

From purest white to shaggy black

Forcing through the earthy crack

Twixt cyclamen and grass

You are the season come to pass.

I watch you flake; like ash

Into the wind, unabashed,

By frost or sun

Bright and dark on green and dun.
