Moon Books authors this August

Here’s all the latest news from the Moon Books authors! A number of our authors were involved in the recent Pagan Federation online festival, we’ll have videos from that for you in a separate post.

Brendan Myers is currently visiting Czech Republic and staying in the same house where he wrote a big chunk of “Reclaiming Civilization” two years ago. That book comes out at the end of August and we’ll have photos for the blog from the gorgeous locations he’s been visiting in the not too distant future.

North Quabbin Garlic and Arts Festival are beginning a new tradition, as regional author Ellen Evert Hopman of Belchertown joins them this fall as an author exhibitor. Hopman is the author of fiction and non-fiction Celtic and herbal novels, teaches herb classes in the Valley, and is a professional member of the American Herbalists Guild. Her title ‘A Legacy of Druids’ is published by Moon Books.

Lucya Starza ran a candle magic workshop at Treadwell’s Bookshop on Saturday July 8. It sold out and so she will be running the workshop again on Thursday 7 September from 7pm – 9pm details here –

Kenn Day spent a week camping at Brushwood Folklore Center for a pagan gathering called Sirius Rising. He presented workshops on The Shamanic Tree of Life; The Spiritual Foundations of Shamanism; and, Communion of the Soul. Next month, he will be beginning his shamanic training series again in Detroit, Michigan. More details on that here –

Registration is now open for Laura Perry’s autumn class in Modern Minoan Paganism: It’s an 8-week online class that’s accessible from anywhere in the world. Subjects covered include the Minoan gods and goddesses, the Underworld, the Minoan precursor to the Eleusinian Mysteries, sacred dance, and more.

Yvonne Ryves taught several Reiki courses in July and have Munay Ki Rites coming up in August. She’s blogging away at and has her usual column Shaman Moon for Indie Shaman magazine.

David Salisbury will be at TempleFest in New Hampshire in a few weeks, leading two workshops, participating in a panel, doing a book signing, and a ritual  In DC, he will be teaching his flying ointment class in a couple of weeks – more about that here –

Rebecca Beattie is running young ‘witchlets’ planetary and practical magic workshops at Treadwells. Each one is selling out, so jump in quickly if you want to get a space at one of these! 

Cat Treadwell is attending Pagan Pride events in Nottingham on August the 6th and Milton Keynes on the 27th August.

Nimue Brown and Kevan Manwaring will be putting their best hats on for Lincoln’s massive Steampunk event over the bank holiday weekend. Look for both of them at the Cathedral Centre. Kevan will also be signing at the Castle and performing at the University.
