Every Day Magic

Today is the Feast of Mary Magdalene, who is a Christian saint but is also honoured by many pagans as a symbol of the divine feminine.

In the Moon Books community book Every Day Magic, Dorothy Abrams wrote this entry for today, 22 July. She also offered a suggestion for some mirror magic to help us find our own inner strength, love and healing powers:

An elevation of the Bride of Christ and the Black Madonna, Mary Magdalene received her own feast day from the Pope. Pagans remember she is another face of Isis who mourns, mothers and creates magic. Mary Magdalene heals our wounded psyche. Today, gaze into a hand mirror eye to eye. Say: ‘This is enough, my pain ends here,’ as often as it takes to make it true. Send love to your image. Receive it in your heart. Make a gift to a women’s shelter.

Every Day Magic – A Pagan Book of Days has contributions from about 50 Moon Books’ writers and offers something to do every day of the year, including spells, rituals, meditations, Pagan prayers, divinations, poems to read, recipes  and craft projects. You can order copies via the Moon Books website www.moon-books.net or buy a signed paperback at The Atlantis Bookshop, 49A Museum St, London WC1A 1LY.
