Interview with Lucya Starza

Oct 9th, 2017 | By | Category: Articles, Pagan People

Lucya Starza is the author of Pagan Portals Candle Magic, and the editor of Every Day Magic – which comes out in November.

Nimue: What are you excited about at the moment?

Lucya: The future. I’ve literally just sent my final version of my new book to Moon Books and uploaded photos for the cover. I mean, within the past half hour. The book is called Pagan Portals – Poppets and Magical Dolls. I’ve been working on it for about a year and I’m really proud of it. It will be about another year before it reaches shop shelves, but I’m excited about that already.

Also, I am excited about the launch of Every Day Magic – A Pagan Book of Days, which I edited and which is being launched this November with a party at The Atlantis Bookshop in London.

And I’m excited that I’ve been invited to give a talk at Witchfest about candle magic. I’ll also be doing a book signing session of my book Pagan Portals – Candle Magic.

Yes, exciting times.

Nimue: What are you working on at the moment?

Lucya: Right this moment, nothing. But I will be starting to think about what to write next…

Nimue: Do you have any survival tips for coping with these strange and uneasy times…

Lucya: Thinking like a Taoist. Going with the flow and recognising that change always happens. Even things that seem as though they might be bad aren’t necessarily going to be bad in the long run. We don’t know the whole story yet…

Nimue: What will you be doing as a Pagan this autumn?
Lucya: I spent the Autumn Equinox in Sussex celebrating by walking in the South Downs and honouring the spirits of the place in my own way.
Nimue: Who inspires you?
Lucya: I’m always inspired by my fellow moon books authors. They are a constant source of encouragement – and great ideas!

Nimue: What do you do when you need to feel grounded?

Lucya: Usually have a cup of tea and a biccie.
