Every Day Magic

It is easy to feel sad now that the nights are really drawing in. In the Moon Books community book Every Day Magic, Mabh Savage wrote this entry for September 23, with a magical suggestion to help beat the post-Equinox blues:

For some, the Autumn Equinox can be jarring realisation that summer is over and that darkness will only get deeper for many weeks now. To combat any unwanted sadness, start a happiness jar. Clean an empty jar. Write down the last few times you were really happy on separate scraps of paper. Fold them and put them in the jar. Pledge to write down your joyful moments. On the days when you feel sad, get the jar out and read your scraps of happiness.

Every Day Magic – A Pagan Book of Days¬†has contributions from about 50 Moon Books’ writers and offers something to do every day of the year, including spells, rituals, meditations, Pagan prayers, divinations, poems to read, recipes¬† and craft projects. You can order copies via the Moon Books website www.moon-books.net or buy the paperback at The Atlantis Bookshop, 49A Museum St, London WC1A 1LY.
